The Role
We are looking for a Stack Engineer to lead the development of our next-generation electrochemical stacks. As a core member of our electrochemical engineering team, you will help design, manufacture, test, and scale our novel CO2 conversion cell for on-site industrial decarbonization. This means addressing mechanical, fluid, and thermal challenges while preparing the system to at-scale manufacturing.

Your Responsibilities
Design, build, test, and optimize multi-cell hardware architectures for the conversion of carbon dioxide into value-added chemical products.
Engineer flow fields, bipolar plates, sealing mechanisms, and manifolding to ensure uniform gas and liquid distribution across large active areas in a complex multi-phase system.
Collaborate closely with the electrode development team to integrate and scale electrodes.
Perform electrochemical tests and work-up, analyze, and interpret results.
Create SOPs for scaled-up test stands and relevant equipment.
Design and perform experimental studies to understand failure mechanisms.
Collaborate with industry and academic partner organizations on joint projects.
Participate in preliminary process modeling, DFMEA, and design-for-manufacturing initiatives as we bring our pilot plants online.
Your Qualifications
Required: At least 5 years of hands-on industry experience in complex mechanical, fluidic, or thermal system design (e.g., multi-phase reactors, chemical processing equipment, thermal management systems), OR an advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with 2-3 years of similar industry experience.
Strongly Preferred: Experience in electrochemical engineering, with knowledge of electrochemical cell design (electrolyzer or fuel cell) and/or electrocatalysis.
Bonus: Previous work in electrochemical CO2 or CO conversion is preferred, but not a requirement.
Experience designing for manufacturability (DFM) and scaling from bench-top to pilot-scale systems.
